Federal Budget Cut Suggestions

Military:
1. end drug war
2. reduce Afghanistan spending
3. cut unnecessary weapons purchases (F-35 for example)
4. reduce troop levels (esp. in Europe & Japan) & focus more on CIA & FBI
5. stop using contractors that cost more than employees

Social Security:
1. combine it with disability/ unemployment. People work until they can't, regardless of age, and get money if they need it, not if they don't
2. Or raise the minimum qualifying age by one year every five years.

Taxation:
1. legalize drugs & tax them (start w marijuana)
2. tax stock trades
3. make capital gains tax equal to income tax

Health Care:
1. allow generic drugs / medicare price negotiation
2. make physical & mental therapy $20/session for preventative care

Education:
1. schools should use durable (3 yr warranty) children's tablet computers instead of textbooks
2. free wi-fi in every school for restricted / approved content

Prison:
1. release non-violent offenders on probation 
2. require two years of trained and paid community service from all prisoners upon release
